Please don't think I'm ignoring you this evening

Had an eye esam today and she dilated my eyes so I can't really even read what I'm typing. i won't be online this evening. If you need to get in touch with me you'll have to call. Can't read text messages either for a few hours, so unless it's somehting you want someone else to read to me, wait until tomorrow.

The pressure in my left eye was a little high according to my optometrist and she referred me to a specialist. Anyone know anything about glaucoma? Both of my parents are doing eye drops for it, and the pressure in my right eye was normal. Left eye was 24, which she says is a bit high. New Rx for reading glasses. Who wants to help me pick out frames? Elias?

oh, I hate that dilation.

I'm in the market for new frames too, so if you're looking online at any good sites, let me know. I've done a few cursory searches, but either they're compendiums of every eyeglass known to man, or it's single-brand, which I don't find very effective.

how's your blood pressure? even slight hypertension can cause the pressure in your eyes be elevated as well. Cheers, Nemo

I know a little about glaucoma, but mostly in cats and dogs. There are several different sorts. Some are hereditary. They can be "open angle" or "closed angle" which basically describes the mechanism of the increased pressure. Causes can include high blood pressure, lens luxation, aging, immune mediated causes...

Treatment can be medical or surgical. It can make you blind in 24 hours if the onset is acute.
