I've stolen a moment in the conference center's computer room to try to give you a quick update to let you know that I did, indeed arrive in NH relatively unscathed.

The trip here was rather dramatic, but Blake and I both kept our senses of humor, and Blake slept a bit. (hasn't slept much since, but hey. . .time changes and Blake don't go well together)

We got to SFO in plenty of time. Security wasnt' totally heinous. Was told in SFO that we wouldn't have to change planes in Chicago. Got to take the stroller to the gate, and when I checked it there, because we didn't have to change planes in Chicago, they checked it all the way through to Boston. Blake fell asleep on descent and I thought for sure I was going to have the most effortless transition possible.

In Chicago we suddenly had to change planes. Of course, Blake was asleep, so I had to 25 pound carry on bags and a 40 pound kid to lug from one end of the world to the other with no stroller. Managed that, but not without waking him up. Then at the new gate they told us there was going to be at least a 35 minute delay. There was no way I was going to be able to wait over an hour with nothing for Blake to sit in. Couldn't get to the bathroom with all that stuff, and they won't watch your stuff. Begged the woman at the desk to get the stroller, and after about 15 minutes a very pissy ground staff person emerged with it. Blake had, by this point, totally melted down. Once we had the stroller, he was fine... put him in, had a nice stroll, got to use the bathroom, get food, restock the m&M supply, etc.

Got to BOS late, and my contacts were there to fetch me. The car was small, so one of them ended up sitting under my luggage in the backseat with Blake. Blake slept. We then had a blow out on the 95 going N. Changing a tire on the freeway in the dark at 1am. Yay, me.

Then we got pulled over for going to slow on the freeway. (he was driving on one of those mini spares and afraid to go too fast.) The guy who was driving then informed us we would be there for a while. He had the same date of birth and last name and physical characteristics as a guy wanted for murder out of California. The cop confirmed this, but he only took about 15 minutes, was very friendly, and we were off once again.

Got to the hotel at about 2:15, having missed Kosse by about 15 minutes.

More later.
