So, hi

I'm not sure how to begin as I'm rather befuddled.

My parents are in town. We just spent two lovely days together. They have been kind, helpful, complimentary and I have no idea who these people are.

My father bought me a book about parenting kids with autism, and READ it. he said he understands a lot more now, and he and my mom have both really enjoyed being with Blake this visit on his terms.

My mom wore some stinky perfume this morning but it didn't send Blake into a meltdown, so it was OK.

Tomorrow I think we're going to go up and see the redwoods.

I'm just having a rather large slice of gratitude at the moment. We've talked about lots of important stuff, the fact that they have given me durable health care power of attorney for both of them, that they have created a trust for Blake to provide for his long term care, my will, custody of Blake should (Goddess forbid) anything happen to me. . . and my mother and I managed to discuss my grief about Blake's autism and her grief about my transsexuality in a kind, sharing and non-toxic way.

So, hi. Welcome to my new world.
