Bought my books for summer school today. Just under $200 for two classes. Oh, how I will not miss the expensive science book scam. Have to read 175 pages of cell bio for the frist day of class. 5 chapters by Thursday! Read the first page or two just now. Most likely will not do any more tonight.
Stopped by and talked to the instructor I'm going to TA for. Not sure I'll be able to do the cell bio and TA at the same time. If not, she's cool with having me help a little now and then more steadily in the fall.
Called student health today and I can go in free tomorrow. Hopefully they'll be able to give me some different allergy medicine because this stuff I'm taking clearly isn't doing it.
Got my ibook back from repair. They didn't replace my screwed up power supply. That's OK, I have my after market one from here:
http://www.mcetech.com/products.html I think theirs are more sturdy, they are about half the price of an apple brand one, and they don't have the annoying green/orange light thingy. Synchronized my ipod with the mac. Hallelujia, nerd-dom at last.
Managed to import some of the Blake footage I took with Fergus' camera. I have this one clip that is about 4.5 minutes leading up to a super huge meltdown. (the camera battery died just as the really explosive part of the meltdown happened, of course) It's basically me just trying to coax Blake up the stairs to our apartment. I have to say it is much more distressing to revisit than it was to experience. Guess I'm just used to it happening, but the reflecting one is able to do with a recording is weird. It's even more bizarre because I rarely manage to have one hand on Blake trying to get him up the stairs and one hand on the camera while paying attention to what is going on, so it's this very f'ed up wobbly camera series of shots. Kind of makes me slightly nauseous to watch because the camera is all over the place.
Anyway, it's way past my bedtime, so I'm off to sleep.
