Jonny's got a kidney stone

thingie ) is in the hospital with a kidney stone. He was in excruciating pain last night when I took him to the emergency room, and then things seemed to settle down, and I took him home about 10pm last night.
The pain returned and he called an ambulance to take him back to the ER. They admitted him, so he's snug in a bed at Davies hooked up to all kinds of morphine or whatever.
I took him some essentials. (clean underwear, gatorade, etc, some Blake art)
I don't have any Blake care today, so I couldn't stay. He seemed OK, but was really out of it.
Might need someone to go with me, or to stay here with Blake, so I can go to Davies to pick up his keys later so I can go feed his cats and let them know I haven't done horrible things to him.

Jan. 23rd, 2005 02:24 pmOn a more personal note, I'm thinking of getting a dog and do the companion/assistance training myself.
Chocolate lab puppy. 11 weeks old, male. AKC, microchipped, housebroken, 2 series of shots.
I have had dogs in the past. I've taught them to do fun stuff. They were always rescue dogs, with issues. I have read some books on dog training. I'm pretty clear that the 2 grand I've been able to raise to go toward the service dog should be enough to pay for and support the dog for a year or so.
My school schedule is pretty flexible, so I'd be able to come home if there were dyas when others wouldn't be around to walk the critter until he's old enough to last the day, or go with me. There's a dog run right across the street, and our apartment is pet approved.
Got the roommie's approval last night. She's also willing to help with walking, and sees it as an opportunity to do some PT work for herself.
I have a friend who knows some great trainers, and have sent him an email inquiring about their services. I'm assuming that I should be able to send him to them for training and occasional reinforcement for less than 11k.
