Got Blake on the school bus, but in the process of getting him dressed noticed that his upper left arm was red and swollen. Called the pediatrician and she called back when I was on my way to pick up [livejournal.com profile] eliana9 for our morning adventure. She recommended benadryl and advil. She said it's a reaction to the tetanus shot. (sorry you have to read this Kosse. . .) Drew a circle around the redness and will make sure it doesn't get worse. Poor kid. If you didn't see it, you'd never know there was anything wrong, because it's not like he notices enough to tell you, but it's clearly uncomfortable. (bright red and warm to the touch) Ahh the guilt from those difficult parenting decisions.

Anyway, got [livejournal.com profile] eliana9 and [livejournal.com profile] logankiefer to go with me to Rite Aid to get the supplies. Luckily, Logan was like the sacred guide to the Rite Aid who knew where everything was. Sadly they were out of Sugar Babies, but I managed to survive.

Got to Blake's school and made a purple gatorade and grape advil cocktail for him. He didn't drink it, of course, but at least I've tried.

Ran to the east bay to Afikomen. Ahh, all the cool books. Eliana got me a Dr. Seuss book in Hebrew. I'm going to read it tonight. the cat in the hat comes back in Hebrew. Blake saw it, and flipped through the pages in the proper direction but shut it when I noticed and started going through the alef-bet section at the end with him. Grumpus.

Came back into town and had lunch. Then ran to the mailbox to get everything in the whole world. A box of stuff from[livejournal.com profile] thedaveytrain, a package of music and totally adorable pictures from [livejournal.com profile] pywacket, some cool tshirts I ordered for Blake from eBay and a box of aussie delicacies from [livejournal.com profile] jeneration. I feel so well and truly spoiled I hardly know what to do with myself.

Job interview went well. (it is for a casual unbenifitted part time HIV test counseling position) They need to check with the AIDS Office to see if I need to take the basic training again. (I took it in 1992 and again in 1997) If not I'll start sooner, if I need to, I'll take the training the week of July 19th. They'd like me to work at least 3 shifts (each of which is usually 5 hours) a week. Should be no problem. Just need to find out when it is so I can arrange Blake care. Once I get trained up, they may, after a period of adjustment, put me in charge of a couple of the mobile testing sites. They're also rolling out a rapid HIV test that's oral instead of a finger stick soon. That very well may increase demand.

Trading my iTrip from my ipod for a voice recorder this evening. Ahh the joys of craigslist.

I will have some more Cherry Ripe this evening thanks to the cutest vet on the planet.

All in all, it's been a stellar day.

Oh, funny bit - Jessie, my neighbor thought I looked so cute in my job interview outfit she thought I was someone else.
