Things here are OK. Logan and Blake are in the pool for their after school swim, and I'm trying to tidy and make some organizing the stuff out of the boxes progress.

School is going OK. Group presentation on Monday for one class. Some work to catch up on for the other. Hope to be able to do some over the weekend, but as I'm flying solo with Blake, it's hard to say.

Turned in some needed paperwork at school, so it feels nice to be making progress through the teaching credential bureaucracy. Having the wallet $100 lighter doesn't feel so good, but I suppose it's all in the name of having a job next year.

High today and tomorrow is set at 103/104 F (that's 40 C for those of you who live in the civilised world). So very not my favorite. Blake seems to love it, though. He doesn't even complain about falling asleep when it's hot. Actually, come to think of it, he's been sleeping pretty well. Must be the swimming every day. He is turning a lovely shade of toasty brown. (and for those of you who know my pasty blue-white self in real life you'll know he didn't get that from me)

Much love from me and the child who has the cutest tan line in the whole world. Logan and I tried to take photos in the pool yesterday, we'll see if any of them come out.

40 C??? Wow, that is so hot. It's been around 30 here and that's plenty warm enough for me. I don't know if it's true or not, but I heard via a classmate that I'm on the pass list for this year with no supplementaries! I won't believe it until I see it in writing. Good luck with the weekend. Isn't funny how our children can be so different from us? My son burns while I have a "natural tan" as my mum calls it. You can see from my icon, pasty isn't a word that applies to me much. Ewan is also incredibly fair, almost white blonde and those clear blue eyes. Hmphhh! I always said if I wasn't there at the birth, I would told you he was someone else's.

My mum's colouring is almost exactly like yours, and I think mine is more like Ewan's, incredibly fair and the pale eyes.

I think Blake is quite fortunate to have the ability to tan. I have painful memories of horrible blistered sunburns as a kid.

Pale eyes are cool. Mine are blue with assorted other colours in them. Like green and yellow, not to mention blood shot during the summer due to allergies. I'm such a treat.

You and me both. I had one so bad my mom had to give me valium so I could sleep, it was so bad. I still have freckles from that burn.

So glad Blake is getting some good sleep and hopefully in turn you are as well. Being a single parent can really suck sometimes. My kiddo has been with te gransdparents most of the summer and I am so ready for him to come home. I, like you am a big ole pasty white boy, but AJ becomes a lovely brown bean during the summer.

I so know what you mean about those cute tans lines!

Hope you have a chill weekend.

I can't even imagine having Blake gone for even a week. That would be really different.

Hope we have a good weekend, too.

Will let you know.

how would you define "different" ?

you sound more upbeat in this post. hope you're also feeling that way.
I didn't realize it got so hot in that part of CA. I've been to SF, San Diego, Carlsbad and Anaheim, and in each place it was cool and breezy (compared to Phoenix). yikes. heat sucks. glad Blake likes it, though. Brennan does too (up till about 105).

I love tan lines!
I wonder if anyone remembers the ad of the little girl in bathing bottoms that a pup is yanking off with its teeth to reveal the tan line.

Thinking of you and wishing you well.
