how'd it get to be Friday?

Things here are OK. Logan and Blake are in the pool for their after school swim, and I'm trying to tidy and make some organizing the stuff out of the boxes progress.
School is going OK. Group presentation on Monday for one class. Some work to catch up on for the other. Hope to be able to do some over the weekend, but as I'm flying solo with Blake, it's hard to say.
Turned in some needed paperwork at school, so it feels nice to be making progress through the teaching credential bureaucracy. Having the wallet $100 lighter doesn't feel so good, but I suppose it's all in the name of having a job next year.
High today and tomorrow is set at 103/104 F (that's 40 C for those of you who live in the civilised world). So very not my favorite. Blake seems to love it, though. He doesn't even complain about falling asleep when it's hot. Actually, come to think of it, he's been sleeping pretty well. Must be the swimming every day. He is turning a lovely shade of toasty brown. (and for those of you who know my pasty blue-white self in real life you'll know he didn't get that from me)
Much love from me and the child who has the cutest tan line in the whole world. Logan and I tried to take photos in the pool yesterday, we'll see if any of them come out.

Date: 2005-07-16 03:16 am (UTC)I think Blake is quite fortunate to have the ability to tan. I have painful memories of horrible blistered sunburns as a kid.

Date: 2005-07-16 04:14 am (UTC)you sound more upbeat in this post. hope you're also feeling that way.
I didn't realize it got so hot in that part of CA. I've been to SF, San Diego, Carlsbad and Anaheim, and in each place it was cool and breezy (compared to Phoenix). yikes. heat sucks. glad Blake likes it, though. Brennan does too (up till about 105).

Date: 2005-07-16 05:38 pm (UTC)I wonder if anyone remembers the ad of the little girl in bathing bottoms that a pup is yanking off with its teeth to reveal the tan line.
Thinking of you and wishing you well.
