home again, home again
Sep. 7th, 2004 07:44 amWe managed to make pretty good time on the way home. Got home at almost exactly midnight. I'm a bit worn from the 14 hour drive, but up early and getting things ready. Have to send Mister Blake off to school this morning, and then get myself to class by 9:30. Have a bit of a break after that and then I'm off to work.
Had a great time at the conference Sunday night. Several friends stopped by our hotel room just to chat, and it was nice to catch up to people. When I was at the actual conference, almost no one whom I didn't already know spoke to me. There were a couple of super cute exceptions, but I think next time I need to wear a shirt that says, "Please talk to me, I am not as scary as I appear" or something.
Sometimes I wonder if people are so intimidated by who they think I am that they don't bother finding out that's actually a lot like thinking you're being intimidated by Linus.
Anyway, utter lack of star f*ers aside, it was nice to see some faces in the flesh I'd not had the priviledge to see before. Blake had a pretty good go of it, although I'm a bit worn from carrying hm back and forth everywhere on my shoulders.
It was so nice to get to be social even for just a little bit. I feel so fortified by my connections with other people. It was lovely to be able to reconnect with a couple people I'd not seen in ages.
I'm now off to the bedroom to find something that Blake can wear to school.
