easter egg is a nerd term for a hidden feature, usually in some computer related thingy. . . in this case, there is a special bit added to the Lord of the Ring etended DVD that is quite amusing. I hadn't seen it, and got the DVD for xmas, so I had to ask one of my esteemed friends to help me remember where to find it.

in the extended dvd, go to scene selection on the first dvd, go all the way down, and just past council at elrond you'll see a ring light up next to the footnote. select that. wham!
